I really did not enjoy The Loft the last time I went, but a friend swears by the omelettes at this joint and kept telling me I had to go back and try it again. So one day we did.
No problem parking on a Monday morning, and hardly anyone in the place. We got our choice of seating. Away from the counter unlike last time, and if they had Fox News playing this time on the TV behind the counter, it wasn’t really audible at the table we picked.
Since I had been told I must try their omelettes, I did. Chose the bacon, Swiss, and green onion combo ($13.95) which sounded good in theory, but when it arrived turned out to be bacon, some yellow cheese, and regular onion. So that was kind of a letdown. Not nearly as exotic.
On the plus side: Poundage. That omelette was jammed with bacon, yellow cheese, and regular onion, especially bacon. There was kind of a weird taste to the bacon, like old grease, and the old grease taste extended to the hash browns which were otherwise okay. Toast was pretty decent.
Overall I give this breakfast something like a C+ or maybe B- in recognition of the sheer poundage of omelette stuffins.
