The venerable and showing-its-age JB’s on 10th Ave. South down by 14th Street or so, catacorner from where the Holiday Inn used to be but now Town Pump #15633 takes up the whole block, is famous mostly for its all-you-can-shovel-in-there breakfast buffet, which is quite reasonably priced.
Okay so the food from the buffet isn’t particularly outstanding or notable or unique or in some cases very warm, but it is standard breakfast chow and you can pile on things like mushrooms and pico de gallo and several meats, and get yourself a fruit plate side, or load up on pancakes and/or biscuits and/or several styles of potatoes, and you normally come out of there quite stuffed and feeling like you got your money’s worth. Mass quantities is the byword here.
Plus, if you get a window seat, you can watch an endless parade of pickup trucks gun it and run the red light. They also have regular breakfasts if you’re not a buffet fan.
