Rather a disappointing breakfast experience, turns out. The Potatoes O’Brien hash browns were a gooey starchy glob, neither lightly cooked and toothsome (which can be good) nor well-cooked and crispy (which can also be good), but cooked just to that elusive point of master chefdom where it was simply a semi-dryish and tasteless starch glob (which is never good), that I had to soak liberally in ketchup to inject some taste into it and get it down my throat. The scrambled eggs were not only overdone but what the hell on that presentation. And the potato chunks in the quite unremarkable corned beef hash were also dry and starchy and tasteless, also requiring liberal doses, this time of Tabasco, to get them up to edible speed. It was one starchy and not particularly enjoyable meal.
On the bright side the sourdough toast was pretty decent, there was an entire pot of coffee on the table, and there was plenty of ketchup in the ketchup bottle and Tabasco in the Tabasco bottle. But overall verdict is not a real great $14 (incl. tip) breakfast experience. Not a returner for me.
Lots of other customers, however, including many who acted like regulars, so I’ll allow as to how not everyone in Great Falls shares my opinion of the food.
On the plus side, the restaurant does have a nice view of 10th Ave. South and Lucky Lil’s and a used car place, and it seems to be THE place in town for 10:00 a.m. weekday Bloody Mary’s.
