Update: Alas, Goode’s is no more. First it was in the little log cabin place on 15th St. and 7th (?) Ave. No. that always seemed to be a snake bit business location until the Roadhouse came along, and then they moved up to 10th Ave. So. and 26th-ish Street in the back of that little strip mall of bars, in the space where Saibeen’s Kitchen is now, and then, inexplicably they moved to Billings to be the restaurant/kitchen in the revamped motel that used to be the old Warbonnet Inn on 27th St. and the freeway. Their hallmark was always slow, slow, slooooowwww service in Great Falls, and the last time I visited the Billings location on a Sunday morning when there was about zero other customers, the service was still sloooooow. Last I heard, it’s out of business for good now.
Goode’s is mostly known as a Cajun and barbecue place, but it also has a breakfast service and a couple nice offerings in that genre. And this is THE breakfast to get at Goode’s, the Hay Stack, a delicious mess of eggs and biscuits and hash browns and meat and the tastiest gravy you ever wrapped your lips around. Yum!
Not particularly cheap, but well worth it. Make sure you allot plenty of time for a breakfast at Goode’s.
